Deborah Frank is a young emerging artist living on the outskirts of east london. Currently completing a BA in contemporary portraiture at The Art Academy London, she works primarily in oils and explores concepts of the figure within landscape. Her work has been shown at the Mall Galleries and within local exhibitions and art trails.
For Deborah, capturing the essence and look of an individual is of great importance. Taking on regular portrait and painting commissions, she looks tentatively at how the composition of an image will be read and the language it conveys. Working confidently from life and photographic imagery, Deborah uses colour with freedom and a rich understanding of light.
This understanding of light and shadow when producing art acts for her as a futher metephor of mans connection to the natural world.
Winner of the Miriam Waterman Scholarship 2022 she has gone on to pursue portraiture with a contemporary lense.
